This is not my Thanksgiving post

If you read Erika's blog, you already know about her new and exciting Christmas present to herself (and Matt too, I guess).  And since we're BFFs and I like to copy every thing she does like a lot of the same things as her, we bought a new camera too!  It will look like this when it arrives on my doorstep in 7-10 days:

(And yes, Erika and I bought the exact same camera.)

I am not and have never been into Black Friday shopping, so I was thrilled that the deal for this was available online.  That is my kind of shopping.  I am also thrilled to get to learn how to use this fancy-schmancy new camera and hopefully take better-looking pictures.  Woot!

In case anyone reading didn't see my Facebook update the other day, my other big news of the week is that I'm finished with my Christmas shopping.

Wait.  Did you slow down and read that carefully enough?  I said

I'M FINISHED.  WITH MY CHRISTMAS.  SHOPPING!!!!!!!!!!

It was actually completed on Tuesday, two days before Thanksgiving.

I have this thing about November where I just don't like it.  It's stuck between my 2 favorite months of the year and although not very many truly bad things have happened in my life, the ones that have all seem to have hit in November.  Some years I try really hard to change my mindset, but then someone I love dies or we all get really sick (*ahem, pneumonia*) or something and it never really works.  But this year I may have just found the cure: buying Christmas presents!

I really love giving things to other people but our budget just doesn't allow for that very often, so I LOVE buying Christmas gifts.  This year it helped cheer up an otherwise fairly bleak November, plus it will ease some of the stress of December.  It just might become an annual goal for me.

I started this post planning to write about Thanksgiving and got all distracted.  So you may just end up with 2 posts from me in one day...after I manage to go downstairs and get my (7-year-old, unreliable, sad little) camera to upload some pictures from yesterday.  Hope you had a great Thanksgiving, and that those of you who went out shopping while I slept last night survived all the crazy!
